Fun Times in Fall

Even though Brian promised me that the blog would be his responsibility it looks like it is my turn to make a post again. It is amazing to think that it is already mid-November! This fall seems to be flying by and winter is just around the corner. I always thought that fall was beautiful in Klamath Falls, but Wisconsin's is just breathtaking. Not only is it beautiful with vibrant shades of red, orange and yellow, there are a ton of fun things to do. It seems like every weekend has been packed with trips to farms, apple orchards, hay rides and pumpkin patches. Thankfully the weather has been beautiful for us and we have taken advantage of each nice day. The thought of winter in the Mid-West is starting to loom in our minds - I am not sure if any of us are prepared for it!

We were fortunate to have Brian's parents Gary and MaryBeth come to visit us in mid-October. We were able to show them the sights and sounds of Sheboygan and Kohler. The weekend was busy with a trip to the local pumpkin patch which included pony rides, hay rides, feeding the animals and picking pumpkins. Sunday included a trip to Whispering Orchards. We were also able to spoil them in classic Wisconsin cuisine of brats and fried cheese curds. Owen really enjoyed spending time with his grandparents. They all spent a lot of time building towers, playing tractors and reading books.

Halloween was a lot of fun this year. Owen loved playing in the pumpkin seeds with his tractors while we carved pumpkins. We went Trick or Treating to a few of our neighbors houses to show off Owen and deliver them treats. The highlight of Owen's night was answering the door and looking at all the costumes. He would get very excited each time the door bell rang, thankfully there were not any scary costumes! Owen was a pretty cute combination of Bob the Builder and your friendly John Deere tractor repairman.

We also closed on the sale of our house in early November. We feel blessed that our house was only on the market for about 4 months before it sold. It is a little sad thinking that someone else now calls it home, we had so many good memories in that house and it will always hold a special place in our hearts.

We will try and post a little more often, time seemed to get away from us this fall. Here are a few pictures of this fall.

Picking apples at Whispering Orchards. Nothing tastes better than an apple you picked an hour earlier.

Owen loves hauling things in his red wagon. His pumpkins have made many trips between the front and backyard.
We love rolling the pumpkins down the hill (granted it is a tiny hill) in our backyard. It should make a perfect sled run for Owen this winter!

Owen's first pony ride at the pumpkin patch. He loved it!

Reading books with Grandma.

Getting ready to carve pumpkins.

Helping us scoop them out.

Owen's new best friend Monkey. Our neighbor Maureen gave him to Owen on Halloween. It is the first stuffed animal that he has attached to. Monkey needed his diaper changed and Owen loves to puts powder on him.
